Public Feedback Sought for Fund Investments in Digital Assets

The plan is to permit securities firms and asset management firms to provide services to large investors who are looking to diversify their portfolio by venturing into Crypto-related products, such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The regulator is taking cues from the US ETF Market and striving to harmonize the investment frameworks with international developments in digital assets. This move is designed to offer investors greater opportunities for portfolio diversification under professional management.

Ensuring Alignment with International Digital Asset Developments

The Thai SEC has acknowledged that while Thai investors have easy access to crypto ETFs overseas, the existing framework for mutual funds, established in 2015, is not adapting quickly enough to the evolving landscape of digital asset investments globally.
